Lost is an American television series which aired on ABC from September 22, 2004 to May 23, 2010. The series follows the lives of various individuals and groups of people, most importantly the survivors of the crash of passenger jet Oceanic Airlines Flight 815 flying between Sydney and Los Angeles.who crash on a mysterious tropical island somewhere in the South Pacific Ocean. Episodes typically feature a primary storyline on the island, as well as a secondary storyline from another point in a character’s life.
A critically-acclaimed and popular success, Lost was consistently ranked by US critics on their lists of top two series of all time. The first season garnered an average of 15.69 million US viewers per episode. During its sixth and final season, the show averaged over 11 million US viewers per episode. Lost was the recipient of hundreds of US award nominations throughout its run, and won numerous industry awards, including the Emmy Award for US primetime Outstanding Drama Series in 2005, Best American Import at the British Academy Television Awards in 2005, the Golden Globe Award for Best Drama in 2006 and a Screen Actors Guild Award for Outstanding Ensemble in a Drama Series.

The light beaming from the shelter in the ground. Brilliant cliff hanger way to end the first season and i genuinely didnt know what the light was and couldnt wait to find out. Unfortunately when the truth was revealed i experienced my ‘is that it’ moment in Lost. These moments continued till the end. Not only ‘is that it’ but also ‘huh?’, ‘whats going on here?’ and ‘i dont understand’ till finally ‘fuck off!! this is bullshit’.

Had Lost been a two season tv show then it wouldve been one of the greatest pieces of tv drama ever. The first season was fantastic they couldve used the next season to wrap up some mysteries of the island leaving us all satisfied with a weird bit of sci-fi drama long before any of this flash forward, island moving, time travelling shit that happened.
You cant say ‘never jumped’ you just cant. Madness.

First season was absolutely awesome!!! Ive never enjoyed a tv show like i did with Lost in season 1. What a fantastic idea. It didnt last though and from season 2 onward i was left scratching my head wondering when i was going to get any explanations. I didnt really get any satisfactory reasons to heal the pain after 6 seasons of frustrations.

There was far too much left unanswered. ‘Everything that happened on the island actually happened’ only explains the flash sideways from Season 6. Most other stuff is still a mystery. How can anyone claim they dont care about the numerous gaping holes in so many of the plot lines?? We were lead on a merry dance for 6 seasons and promised that everything would be answered!!! People just accept this? FS

Darma food is very high in sugar, calories and trans fats. Hurley sure loved his Darma food. This is the only explination i can think of for his sustained bulk throughout. Try as i might to hate Lost for all the reasons giving below…and more. I just thought it was the geatest tv show ever made. It was a love, hate relationship. But a relationship i still pine for none the less.

I loved Lost and willingly accepted any of the plot twists and cliff hangers they served up. Probably my favourite show of all time. I know it can be argued that there was unanswered questions etc But i cant remember any tv show capturing the publics imagination like this one. Everyone was kept guessing as to what was going on.

The show was all about flashbacks to give us more back story on the characters but at times these were to frequent. The action on the island was always more interesting than anything back in their normal lifes. But in every season as frustrating as it could be. Lost pulled out some great episodes that made you come back for more. The time travel storyline was completely weird even by Lost standards but they kinda made it work and we got to learn quite a bit about the characters and ofcourse the mysterious island. I think it came very very close to jumping alot of times but then managed to redeem itself, just.

When Benjamin turned the wheel and the island went back in time. Lost threw everything at us and expected us to simply accept it. None of us ever knew what was going to happen next and i got the impression the Lost writers didnt really have a clue what to do either.

My favourite tv show ever. Im proud to say i was a Lost addict for all six seasons. It did drive me mad at times and i found it as puzzling as anyone else but i always willingly came back for more. There was a little element of the writers making it up as they went along at times but i still watched and still loved it.
The end is unfairly critisised i think. Ofcourse they were never going to tie up all the loose ends it wouldve been impossible by this point. But they did a great job on bringing some kind of closure to everything. The final two episodes are up there with the best season finale episodes of any show ever!! I watched them recently and it still makes me cry.

Once The Others got involved everything went downhill. What started off as a ‘wow’ moment when they all appeared on screen quickly became too complicated for its own good posing yet more questions for us in the now typical Lost fashion. This realy was the shape of things to come for Lost. A small moment of excitemet followed by afew episodes of nonsense, and repeat.

Im one of the few that dont think it ever jumped. Ive never enjoyed anything on television as much as i enjoyed Lost. Not just a tv show but an event. There were maybe one too many filler episodes thrown in i suppose. But overall it was a great mix of action and mystery. I could go on and on but it would take forever.

The show loved being clever. Added way to many twists in the tale and left it too late to try and tie up all the loose ends. We were led to believe that everything would be revealed but there was far too many answers left. Season 6 seemed rushed. Almost like the producers just wanted it to be over.
I have the box set and im often tempted to watch them all again.

The show was all over the place. I didnt know what the hell was going on at some points. Clearly the production team didnt either. Loved the first series, probably more than any other show recently. But it all went downhill fast. One good thing was Benjamin Linus who was great as the bad guy. What a creepy little man. But alas even he couldnt save it.

I dont remember any show capturing the imagination of the public like Lost did. I think i was hooked when i saw the first teaser trailer before the show had even started.
Not sure if i can pinpoint when it jumped to be exact. Im pretty sure my frustrations reached a peak soon after season 2. The questions kept coming and the confusion grew. I like many others still defended it, but to be honest it was on the slide and we all knew it

Started very promising, but then I – as it says – lost interest around ep 5 or 6
A friend followed it all the way, and after hearing his frustrations at the many convolutions, and the ending – I’m pleased I gave up before investing a lot of time into it.

How come Hurley never lost any weight? Running around a tropical island with humidity of 100% and being unable to order King Ribs from the takeaway should have made him a contender for Mr Slim Fast. That he managed to maintain the ‘plane crashed because I walked to the toilet’ look…that was the biggest mystery of the whole show.

Be interesting to speak to a writer now and get their thoughts on Lost.
Man, that show was all over the place and yet they still maintained it would all make sense in the end.
The annoying part is that alot of Lost viewers are a bit confused as to what actualy happened. I know some of my friends are using he flash sideways purgatory storyline to explain the whole show from start to finish. When all it did was wrap up Season 6, nothng more.

Lost did something truly special, but not in a good way.
Even if a series JTS, you can still watch it. Maybe you won’t watch it with the same enjoyment, but you can still watch it. And you can watch episodes BEFORE it JTS’d, and forget that the magic won’t last forever.
Not so with Lost. Every episode reeked of mystery, with the promise of final answers; the result being that, given the cop-out of the final season and episode, I can’t help but know if I watch an early episode that i) no f*cking answers will be provided, or ii) the answers that are provided will be utter excrement.
What really annoyed me was my conviction that everything WOULD tie together; that there WAS going to be a nice sense of resolution. I didn’t need EVERYTHING answered; just the main points, like the meaning of the numbers (which, according to Lostpedia, had something to do with the Valenzetti equation – which didn’t feature in the series AT ALL).
Lost? Too true. Lost opportunity. Lost time I’ll never get back. Lost faith in tv.

Agree with Kim. I loved this show and it had sooo much promise but it all got too complicated, simpe as that. The writers stopped being clever and increasingly spun out bizarro sub splots to fill out episodes. Is it even possible to pin-point where this ‘ jumped ‘?
And just to add salt to the wounds after following Lost for what seemed like an eternity we are then seved up this dross of a finale. Ive rarely been as frustrated at a tv show than i have with this. Lost deserves special recognition on this site.

This show had numerous jumps in its 6 seasons ( is it possible for a show to jump more that once ?? ) Clearly the writers lost their way and didnt realy know how to wrap everything up.
Its a real shame cause i loved this show and nothing wouldve pleased me more than to silence all the haters. Unfortunatly on it went asking more questions than it would have ever been able to answer. Still sad to see it go though. It was at one point my favorite show on TV.

Lost ‘ lost ‘ direction , so many questions , so many plot lines . Didnt the writers strike effect some it at some point too ?
