Seinfeld is an American television sitcom that originally aired on NBC from July 5, 1989, to
May 14, 1998, lasting nine seasons, and is now in syndication. It was created by Larry David and Jerry Seinfeld, the latter starring as a fictionalized version of himself. Set predominantly in an apartment block on Manhattan’s Upper West Side (but shot in Los Angeles), the show features a host of Jerry’s friends and acquaintances, in particular best friend George Costanza, former girlfriend Elaine Benes, and neighbor across the hall, Cosmo Kramer. A critical favorite, commercial blockbuster and cultural phenomenon, the show led the Nielsen ratings in its sixth and ninth seasons and finished among the top two (along with NBC’s ER) every year from 1994 to 1998. In 2002, TV Guide named Seinfeld the greatest television program of all time. In 1997, the episodes “The Boyfriend” and “The Parking Garage” were respectively ranked #4 and #33 on TV Guide’s 100 Greatest Episodes of All Time. And in 2009, “The Contest” was ranked #1 on the same magazine’s list of “TV’s Top 100 Episodes of All Time”. E! named it the “number 1 reason the ’90s ruled.” Many terms coined, popularized, or repopularized during the series’ run have become part of popular culture. Notable catchphrases include “Yada, yada, yada”, “These pretzels are making me thirsty” and “Not that there’s anything wrong with that”.

Larry David leaving did it. Otherwise a Seinfeld was one of the best comedies ive ever seen. I remember it fondly. I even liked Elaines straightened hair.
A hair doo is one of the most bizarre reasons ive ever heard for a shows demise

The hair changed and the character changed. Which in turn made the show change. All for the worse. I never thought Seinfeld was as good as everyone else seemed too. But it was funny enough.

On the whole Seinfeld was a great comedy show. But no one has mentioned when Elaine’s hair changed. The new style was supposed to look more glamourous with the straightened glosy hair, which i guess she did. But weirdly she stopped looking like her character should have looked and instead looked like a famous actress who is just playing the character in a show. If that makes any sense.

Seinfeld never jumped the shark. I’m still pissed off that the show is no longer around. Greatest sitcom ever? Not sure, but its very high up there on the list of the best.

Susan died from licking envelopes for wedding invites!!!. What a shitty way to die!! And a very depressing episode. Seinfeld was never the same after Susans death.

Seinfeld is one of my favourite shows. but it jumped 3 times at once. I’m talking about when Susan Ross was killed off, when Larry David left, and when they completely got rid of the stand-up in the opening scene. but, after that it was still funny, but it just didn’t feel the same anymore.

The finale let it down. Probably my only real problem in an otherwise great comedy show.
